AIMDB

AI-made film, music and image work is being produced at enormous volume and catalogued almost not at all. AIMDB is the attempt to give that output a reference layer.

Opportunity

Every media category eventually gets its index — the neutral place where work, makers, tools and credits are recorded. AI-native media does not have one yet, and the window to define how this category is described is open right now.

The opportunity is structural rather than fashionable: reference infrastructure compounds. It becomes more valuable as the category grows, regardless of which tools win.

What was built

AIMDB is being built as an indexing venture: a schema for AI-made work, the entities around it, and an interface designed for browsing and credit rather than for hype.

The build priority is the data model and the browse experience. Everything else — community, submissions, rankings — sits downstream of getting the record right.

My role

Founder. Category definition and positioning, information architecture, creative direction of the interface, and AI-native prototyping of the index itself.

Key decisions

  • Index the work and the makers, not the tools — tools churn, credits persist.
  • Neutral reference tone: an index earns trust by being boring in the right places.
  • Structure before scale. A clean schema now prevents an unusable database later.
  • Keep AIMDB independent from The Wiser Tiger and from Wiser — it needs to read as infrastructure, not as a personal project.

What it demonstrates

That I can see a category forming, define its structure early, and build toward long-term infrastructure value rather than short-term attention.
